Pacers vs Thunder Game 3

Pacers vs Thunder Game 3

Wednesday, June 11 | Gainbridge Fieldhouse | NBA Finals Game 3

Game 2 Recap

Oklahoma City answered the bell in Game 2, dominating the second quarter and riding that momentum to a 123–107 win to even the NBA Finals at 1–1.

The Thunder tightened up every area that hurt them in Game 1 committing just 13 turnovers, shooting 48% from the field, and making 29-of-33 free throws (87%). They built a 16-point halftime lead behind a 33–21 second quarter and never looked back.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was sensational, finishing with 34 points, 5 assists, and 8 rebounds. Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren chipped in efficiently, and OKC out-rebounded Indiana 43–35 while pulling down 11 offensive boards.

Indiana battled back in the third but never got closer than 10. Tyrese Haliburton finished with 17 points and 6 assists, but the Pacers couldn’t overcome the free throw gap or their struggles defending without fouling. Despite making 14 threes and dishing out 27 assists, Indiana was outmatched physically in the paint and at the line.

Game 3 Preview

With the series tied 1–1, the Finals shift to Indianapolis where the Pacers are 6–2 at home this postseason and have consistently responded after losses.

Oklahoma City was the best team in the league all season and deservedly enters Game 3 as a 5.5-point favorite. However, Indiana’s toughness at home and adjustments after a tough loss mean the Pacers remain very much in this series.

Indiana continues to show they can shoot the ball (32 made threes across two games), create quality looks, and move the ball effectively against OKC’s defense. Their issues with foul trouble, rebounding, and transition defense are areas that tend to improve on home court.

Expect a sharper Haliburton, a better whistle, and more control from Rick Carlisle’s group. Indiana doesn’t need to dominate — they just need to compete, and they’ve proven they can do that.

Best Bet: Pacers +5.5

Back Indiana to bounce back in a must-win home spot. They’ve answered the call all postseason, and Game 3 should be no different. Expect this one to come down to the wire.
