NHL Prediction and Expert Picks 12-17
Buffalo Sabres vs Montreal Canadiens 7 PM EST MSG-B
Lane Hutson to record a point (-118)
-Canadiens and Sabres have both struggled on defense as of late, so we should see plenty of goals tonight. In the only game played between these 2 teams, Lane scored 2 points. Rasmus Dahlin is out wiht a back injury which will play a major factor for the Sabres defensively. Hutson has been on a bit of a scoring streak lately for the Canadians, scoring a point in 8 of his last 10 games.
Speaking of streaks, on the other side, their opponent, the Buffalo Sabres are currently on a league-worst 10 game losing streak. Without Rasmus Dahlin in the lineup, the Sabres just haven't been the same team defensively. Buffalo have allowed an average of 4.33 goals in games without Dahlin, leaving the door open for the Canadiens to score plenty. Hutson on the top power-play line helps his opportunity for scoring that much more as well.
Take Hutson to score a point, no more than -125
Columbus Blue Jackets vs Tampa Bay Lightning 7 PM EST
Fan Duel Sports Sun/Ohio
Brayden Point 2+ Points (+180)
Tampa Bay Lightning have been on fire the last few games, racking up goals. They face off against the struggling Blue Jackets tonight. A team that has been riddled with injuries and have struggled to find any level of consistency. Brayden and the Lightning should find plenty of opportunity to score. With Point both scoring goals and facilitating for his teammates, I see him scoring at least 2 points tonight
Washington Capitals vs Chicago Blackhawks 8:30 PM EST
CHSN/Monument
Jakob Chychrun to record a Point (+106)
Washington looks to bounce back after their loss to the Dallas Stars last night. Luckily for them they face a young team in the Chicago Blackhawks that should offer a very winnable matchup. Chychrun has been leaned on more as the season progresses and for good reason, he has been a big factor in the Cap's offense as a defenseman. His wrist shot is his best weapon and he's great at setting his teammates up to score, while providing the team with smart and tactical defense. Look for Chychrun to score a point, at + money it's a steal, wouldn't take it past -115
Rest of Card: Hurricanes 60 Min ML (-135), NJ Devils/STL Blues o5.5 (-115)
